Interesting Facts About "Alpacanure" Alpaca manure is commonly referred to as Black Gold because of its soil amending properties, plus its fantastic for delicate plants. Organic gardeners prefer alpaca poo to reduce disease by improving the health of their soil. Alpacas are considered nature’s little composters, because they have a marvelously efficient digestive system. They don't give seeds the opportunity to germinate. Alpaca poop is lower in organic matter than from other livestock such as; sheep, horses, cows, and goats, but is still sufficient to improve soil texture and water holding capacity. Alpaca dung does not have to be "aged or cured", so it doesn't "burn" the plants where it comes in contact. That means no composting is necessary. You could even put the manure on top of your flower beds and let the rain break it down naturally, while continuously feeding the soil like timed release capsules. The potassium and nitrogen levels of alpaca manure is relatively high which indicates good fertilizer value. Major plant nutrients are nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium. For seedlings, use our "Alpacanure" ( a tea mix of 1/3 cup alpaca poo to 2/3 cup water, then let it soak overnight. After 24 hours of your first watering there will be a noticeable change in the seedlings. By the first week's end, little sprouts will appear. Plus, our special brew of "Alpacanure" Tea is an effective deer repellent (they don't like the smell). But, the smell is almost odorless to humans. . |
