The Sisters de Anar in Tyria.

Hi All,
As I mentioned a couple weeks back I've been playing through some of the quests in Areana Nets Guild Wars Game; and the thing I really did not expect was how just utterly stunning so much of the game art is - so I thought I would share some of it with you tonight;

The Game begins in Ascalon, an Idealic human kingdom where in the tutorial quests are played; but a disaster awaits Ascalon, a disaster known as 'The Searing' and as the game begins in earnest the opening chapter is played out in a post apocolypic nightmare.
So Prince Rurick takes it upon himself to lead a band of surviors over 'The Shiverpeaks' to a new life; and here I was very pleasently suprised; I've written about the Murian's and Anar for years, but so much of the Art of this chapter echoed so strongly with the things I've written, Claudia and Pandora just feel like they belong here amid the tall pines and deep snows, for me it has been a simply stunning experiance.
As the Humans push on seeking a path across The Shiver Peaks, they find they have stumbled into a Dwarven Civil War. There is no doubt whose side they will take as there is no negotiating with the Xeno-phobic Iron Summit; and again shades of my own writings and Mura, for the Iron Summit Dwarves wield Necromantic Magicks; and I can just see Ara's daughters confronted with something that so clearly 'Reeks of Chaos' as the Murian would say.
For years I've tried to draw something that conveys the Feel of a Murian Casade these pictures for me are the closes thing I've seen; despite the major conceptional difference that a Casade has trees woven into its very structure, so the watch towers would be tree houses, in living trees woven into the fence... the overall effect I feel is still very right.
The refugees push on to the Human Kingdom of Kryta, and the City of Lion's Arch; Which is simply the most beautifal place I've never been, My first time here I must have spent two hours, just wandering the city a flabber gasted cyber tourist. If the Shiver Peaks remind me so much of Anar; Lion's Arch is nothing like Untermund; I have always imagined Untermund be a city much like ancient Ur, all street and stone, 10,000 people living together in much too close a quarters. LA is lush, green, open; a Magnficent vision; beautifally rendered. It was worth the price of the game just to see this amazing place.

I hope you have enjoyed this brief introduction to the beautifal art of this exceptional game half as much as I have enjoyed presenting it to you. Here at Lion's Arch we are only about 1/4 way through the game, and that only the first volumn of a trilogy; what wonders must await us there.

Brightest Blessings, BB.
