Signs of the TimesRay Grasse, author of Signs of the Times, had a truly fascinating conversation with Whitley a couple weeks back. It is currently posted in the subscriber section of Unknown country. Ray is thoughtful, soft-spoken, but quietly very sure of himself and his knowledge. A regular contributor to the Mountain Astrologer, Ray is wonderful example of the best sort of practitioner of divination. I think you'll find his vision of our future wonderful listening.

Mels Image of the 3 of Wands features an appearance of the young Nagual, we first encounter as the fool, and although The Fool is normally thought of as a card in the Air Signs, he makes all of his appearances in the wands. The III the VI and the Seven of wands to be exact. If you look at the ship depicted in the card carefully you well see its stern faces the figure. I think this is important symbolically, because the card is usually read ..."as your ship has come in". I've never liked this reading of this particular card.

Instead I would suggest too you, that before your ship can come in, you have to send one out in the first place. This card I see as the Q's ship, packed with a cargo of hopes, and aspirations, secrets and dreams. So I see the III of Wands representing an Auspicious moment to begin something. The book you've been meaning to write, or just cleaning out the garage, before a new and powerful god bursts forth from that mountain of oil soaked rages in the back. Any how 3's are very energetic cards, and personally I like Numerologist Shirley Lawrence comment about their being playful.

Play is a wonderful source of energy, that we can so easily loose track of when we become adults. Thats why children between the ages of 4 and 10 are such a blessing in any ones life I think. Children that age have an instinct for play. They find games hidden in the most amazing things. I remember when my daughter was about 6, she was at "da center" and was out in their little yard. Running from fence to fence, when she reached the fence, she would look around, her face all lit up, and see that her friends were catching up to her, and when enough had, off she would go back the other way. They weren't playing tag or anything like that, nothing with a real purpose or goal. Just running for the joy of running.

The reason children like that age don't get tired, is there is such a love of life in all they do, that it does not wear them out. So they give you every ounce of energy they have, until there is just nothing left in the tank, and then tucker out. Once again I am reminded of Daph. Playing with her toys one minute, then just folding up like a raggie doll, and falling asleep right there on the living room floor. When you draw a three, think of the age of three, try to put some of that play in the energy you send out into the world today. The world will thank you for it.

A while back, Tony posted a little piece on numerology and the planets. 3 Venus, bringing together, relating. There is another opportunity with the 3. A opportunity to chance starting a new relationship, or put some energy into an old one. We don't know when the energy we send out to sea today will return to us. For the most part we don't know when our ship will come in, but one must have faith that it will. Remember the 3 is a bit of a gambler, whispering to you to risk embracing the life you have imagined.
