The Robin Wood Tarot
The Art Nouveau Tarot -Lo Scaradeo

Signs of the TimesRay Grasse, author of Signs of the Times, had a truly fascinating conversation with Whitley a couple weeks back. It is currently posted in the subscriber section of Unknown country. Ray is thoughtful, soft-spoken, but quietly very sure of himself and his knowledge. A regular contributor to the Mountain Astrologer, Ray is wonderful example of the best sort of practitioner of divination. I think you'll find his vision of our future wonderful listening.

Today I drew the Ace of Cups, I really like Robins Aces, she has really poured her creative energies into these cards. The Ace of cups depicts a beautiful chalice, with a deep red heart centered on it like a gem. Overflowing with the waters of life running down into a steam filled with lilies in the foreground. A sunburst seems to be flaring from the waters in the chalice themselves.

The Ace speaks to new emotional energies entering into ones life. Romance is the most obvious, but we should not ignore other possibilities. For example, just yesterday my boss made an off hand comment about how he enjoys troubleshooting with me. I've got a good deal of experience with component level work, and Im pretty good at it. It was really nice to get the unexpected affirmation just the same. Im also just happier at work than I was a month ago. We have shuffled the shifts, and It has left me in a situation where Im just more needed. For the last few months, I had felt like a 5th wheel. I was part of an experienced, capable team, that really just did not much need me. The new situation allows me to make more of a contribution. I have of course just started sponsoring Marina, and both me and my wife look forward to making a positive impact on her life, in our own small way.

Another Emotional plus, for me, has been reconnecting with myself as a draughtsman. I used to draw alot, but for the past 10 years, hardly ever. I have however been watching with great interest as the Anime becomes more and more popular. I love the sense of movement, and energy it conveys. Also, I have always been strongest at drawing from life, so I have always wanted to learn more about the more "Comic Book" Style drawing. I purchased a DVD of one of the series, NOIR, and drew from a few paused frames the other day. I was very happy with the results.

The Ace you see is not an inappropriate card right now. Even as a reader, I have just received in the mail my copy of the Connolly Tarot. Its beautiful. I love the use of color, the draughtsmanship is at a high level, say 4 out of 5, and the images challenge my preconceptions. I already feel strongly that this will by my deck for off hand readings for some time.

In addition to Robins Card, I have featured the Art Nouveau card by Lo Scarabeo on the HTML page for this weeks card. Simply because I think it has more to say, than any other card I have available. The maid pictured pouring water into a stream at her feet echoes the star, while the moon peeks over her shoulder. Dispute the cards obvious association with water, we see the silhouettes of tall cacti in the back ground. Does the card imply that the waters of the Ace will refresh the desert. Or is it just the that the desert is a mysterious place, and so in keeping with the mood of the energies of this card. "The ocean is a desert with it's life underground, And a perfect disguise above." -America.

I like the Lo Scarabeo card, it returns us to the deeply mysterious and feminine energy of this card. However the energy of the Ace of Cups in your spread materializes in your world. One thing you can be sure, such a deeply feminine energy, will be ultimately Life Affirming and enriching. Blessed Be All, BB.
