The Gendron Tarot

Phenomena Magazine Great News for those of us who miss OMNI magazine, Phenomena has been launched. Its circulation is still quite small, but it is on the newsstands now. Alternate history, Area 51 (UFO's), The edge of Physics, and the mind/spirit, will all be explored in a magazine I personally hope has a long and successful life.

Imagine if you will, you are walking along a Sumerian road in ancient days. You have stuck your camp with first twilight heralding the rising of the sun, and the chill of a winters night is still in the air. You round a bend in the road, and seated on a stone is a Princess. The Royal Purple of her garb, leaves you no doubt as to her station. The blue silk that covers her arms, and the Deep Yellow scarf that protects her from the desert sun, are the products of the finest craftsmen. The dawn is creeping into the sky behind her. The first light of day fills the branches of a tree behind her, echoing the burning bush of legend. While an eagle soars over her head just so. A man need not be a Seer to feel the power of this moment.

You could be forgiven for thinking you are in the presence of Innana herself. In Goddess like fashion, her gaze is fixed in the distance, she does not notice you. Even as her very presence seems to command you to follow her, she does not seem even capable of seeing you at all.

You take a step closer, and your gaze is drawn to her eyes. Her eyes are like her sword, stern, beautiful, and cold. She has the intense gaze of a true believer. Now you know why you have come up her, at dawn on this shortest day of the year. For she is the daughter of the winters sun. She is the embodiment of that light, so piercing and bright, which surrenders so little warmth. If you follow her gaze, you spy an oasis. In the mists rising up in response to the rising sun a mirage forms. You can almost hear a mans voice saying "I have a dream", the children throwing rocks in the intefada , Michael Collins and Oliver Cromwell.

Then she turns looking you straight in the eye, and in the deepest heart of her vision you see a Rabbi. A man who dared to put god before the temple law. A man who walked without fear among the thieves and beggars, knowing that the state and the church watched him with growing alarm. A man who because he had no doubt god was with him healed the sick and the lame. A man who tried to teach his brothers, that god was in everyman down to the lowest beggar.

And she whispers to you, "Go forth, find injustice, bring justice there!"

Divination: Idealism, often cold contemptuous of the cost of ones ideals, Advancing into the Unknown, Active, Brave, Clever, Domineering, Impetuous.

Reversed: Belligerent, Conceited, Deceitful, Impulsive, Secretive, A person who pretends to be about a cause, but is truly about themselves.
