Numerology Shirley has created a wonderful book here, an in depth study of the meanings of Numbers. Leaving aside the process of creating the basic charts. She has concentrated on enhancing the depth of ones readings by fully exploring the meanings (vibrations) of our Alpha/Numeric system. Taking each letter back to its very beginnings she explains what it meant/ what it means now, and why.

Its just true that dense books are seldom readable, and readable books are often fluffy. Shirley has produced one of those rare books that is both readable and packed with good stuff.

Hi All,
It's hard to believe it's been a little over 4 years since I was tossed out of All Things Tarot for daring to mention I was forming my own Goddess Tarots Group on the board. I know now that was rather bad form, but the response was well overkill, still the Moderator inadvertently did me a favor, she forced me to put all my creative energies into my new project and I am very pleased with the forum that GTS has grown into today. :)

The one regret that has remained with me all these years is that I have never completed these essays; I have done some work with the Card of the Week essay's but that really is a separate creation. So starting tonight I am returning to this original set of essay's with the intention of completing the set. Looking at the half dozen cards that remain, I wonder what they say about myself. Queen of Wands; King of Cups; 4 of Pents; 6 of Cups; 6 of Pents; 9 of Pents; The world. I notice first off there are a lot of Pents in there, and perhaps that makes most sense.

I was raised in a row house in the Riverside Section of Buffalo; my father was a gambler; and wasted most of his income on his vice of choice; leaving us very poor. It was not really till my late teen years that I began to realize how much that cost us; it was not till I was a grown man that I fully realized how different our lives might have been if my father had been a responsible man; but the fact is, he wasn't. I was raised poor, and largely it taught me how to be poor. I have never been comfortable with more than $20 in my pocket; or $1000 in the bank. Give me a little money and the NEED to spend it wells up like nobodies business. I am like a Hobo at a cross roads where all roads lead to broke. So I think perhaps the reason the remaining Pents Equal all the other remaining cards is simple enough- I simply have not mastered the lessons of the Suit. An astrologer glancing at my chart might well note that Taurus is an occluded sign in my chart, and the lessons of Taurus would remain hidden from my eyes.

Yet we are here to learn, and perhaps I have learned some;

When Daph was in growing into a young woman we lived in a little one bedroom apartment, her mom and I slept in the living room, we stayed there almost 7 years; right through Middle and High School. I could have gotten a larger place for the same rent, but not in that neighborhood. Her classmates here the Daughters and Sons of Literary Agents and Neurosurgeons. People with a real future. Now I see her going after her own with such passion. I know I did the right thing. I know I gave her an event horizon far beyond the one that was shown to me as a young man.

I may never be the woman in the 9 of Pents; well her husband; but Daph might be; a woman who has mastered the lessons of the suit. Who has endured the Poverty of the 5 of Pents, Learned the Generosity of the Six of Pents, Planted her Corn in the 7, and Harvested her reward in the 8, and now in the prime of her life she can relax and enjoy the beauty and luxury a little wealth can bring; without falling into the other trap. The mindless pursuit of Wealth for its own sake, to the point one lives in a world filled with lovely things, but has no real life. A balance must be found; the lovely woman in our card today as surely found her balance.

May grace and beauty touch your life as well.

Brightest Blessings, All BB.
