Numerology Shirley has created a wonderful book here, an in depth study of the meanings of Numbers. Leaving aside the process of creating the basic charts. She has concentrated on enhancing the depth of ones readings by fully exploring the meanings (vibrations) of our Alpha/Numeric system. Taking each letter back to its very beginnings she explains what it meant/ what it means now, and why.

Its just true that dense books are seldom readable, and readable books are often fluffy. Shirley has produced one of those rare books that is both readable and packed with good stuff.

Hi All,

Today I return to the Six of Cups. It is a rare pleasure when an artist shows you something new, unexpected and utterly right about a card; and Anna Lazarini has gifted us with a wonderful card. The 6 of Swords is about accomplishments; Graduations and such; The 6 of Wands Victory; The 6 of Pents Giving from what we have earned. I feel all these cards hold to a common theme of Thresholds crossed; but in the traditional 6 of Cups, we falter at the threshold and look back.

A young boy offers a gift of flowers to a still younger girl we are asked to step back for a moment, to fondly reflect on the beauty and innocence of childhood; and this is perhaps not the worst thing; the traditional Tarot pays very little notice to children and childhood really; at the same time I have always found the card somewhat lacking; it was not on theme with the rest of the set; but I did not know just what was missing, until now.

In the Lo Scarabeo Tarot Anna has given us the answer to my unspoken Question;

We see a young woman, standing on a threshold formed by 6 great cups; what lays beyond it is veiled. She holds out an apple and invites us to taste it with her. The echo's of the stories of Adam and Eve are strong, but this is Eve restored; Eve as we should remember her. A young and innocent woman, on the threshold of womanhood herself. She does not know what lays beyond that threshold, any more than the young man we assume is standing beside us just out of frame; any more than we did ourselves before we crossed that threshold.

It is that beautiful moment; that comes but once in a lifetime when we as children surrender our innocence to one an other and become Young Women, and Young Men together. It is as the Murian would say, the crossing of the first river; the Death of the Child; The Birth of the Woman. (or Man.) It is simply one of the most beautiful moments in life, and yet we shroud it in myths filled with fear and shame. We insult it with drivel, a la American Pie; it is a moment we seem not to be able to look squarely in the eye. As if we are stuck in that moment, when still children, we cannot look the young woman squarely in the eye, and simply say. "I would like to lay with you tonight. That nothing would please me more than to fall asleep in your arms." I suppose it sounds awkward, yet why is it so, why do we struggle with these words. We say, "I'll Kill You!" so easily, and our televisions say it for us 1000 times a day; but to say I love you is so hard. To show some pour slob being tortured is just ok; so show two people sharing passion, just beyond the pale. I think we got our obscenity's crossed myself.

Hopefully, you will never be tortured, and more hopefully, you have someone to share passion with tonight, as each of us should. To give and receive Love Deeply and truly felt, that should be our first fundamental human right.

She is waiting for you at the Threshold, stop wasting your time here, and go to her.

Brightest Blessings, BB.
