Andrew Jackson

Andrew Jackson is buried at his estate, the Hermitage, Hermitage, Tennessee.

I visited the Hermitage on June 29, 2007. I left Andrew Johnson's place in Greenville at about noon. The park ranger told me it was about a five hour drive to Nashville, and it being about noon, meant I was going to have to really move to get there before closing. Two things worked in my favor, one: it really isn't a five hour drive its about 4, and two: the time change. I gained an hour when I passed into the central time zone.

The Hermitage is a really cool place. It's a little on the expensive side, admission for 2 adults and 2 children was $38, but it is worth it and you can see that it takes a lot of financial support to run the museum, house and grounds.

We took the house tour, toured the grounds and visited the museum, then we were on our way to the grave of James K. Polk
