Calvin Coolidge

I visited Coolidge's hometown of Plymouth, Vt in January 2003

Coolidge Birthplace
Silent Cal is buried on the side of a hill in the Plymouth Cemetery. Believe me, the hill is a lot steeper than it looks, especially in 5 degree weather with three feet of snow.

To get to Calvin's headstone, I had to dig out the snow with the brush from my friend's car. Luckily, I saw the Presidential Seal on the top of the headstone (that was all I could see) and it made it a little easier. If I look like I am freezing in the picture, I was!

Home of Coolidge's father where he took the oath of office on August 2, 1923, and became the 30th President of the United States.

It is across the street from the birthplace.
