Three year old dies in the arms of her grandfather
Violence has claimed another fatal baby victim. Now a three year old died on the arms of his grandfather in a Sao Paulo suburb. Three year old Vitória Gabrielly Silva de Carvalho died on her grandfather's arms when her uncle was being robbed at gunpoint entering their house. The baby lived with her mother, her granparents and some of ther mother's silbings.
The crime took place yesterday night, when Vitória's uncle was coming home after closing a pizza parlor he owns with his father (Vitória's father). When her grandfather heard noises he went out to check what was happening. One of the criminals shot at him and reached baby Vitoria.
Congress has taken some steps to improve the crime laws in the aftermath of Joao Helio's crime. However, the problem is so big that it is going to take far more than a few minor reforms. Law enforcement also needs a revamp which is likely to require major investments at all levels of Government.
