Madame Tarantula (Skill Point Costs: Cyber Punk)

Total Character Points: 47
Total Skill Points: 80

The young woman known as Madame Tarantula was born to a mixed-race homesteading couple in the sun-scorched wasteland of a much-changed western America in a distant future. Their home was raided by Indians and she was carried off to be raised as one of the tribe. However, as she grew to adulthood, her adoptive father decided that it was best for her to return to live among the "other people." She found herself an outcast because of her mixed blood, and now wanders from isolated mining town to isolated mining town, defending those who need defending, and avenging those incapable of taking vengance for themselves.

The World of Madame Tarantula

Madame Tarantula exists in an America of the distant future. The world has been ravaged by pollution and war, and both the climate and geography is very different. Society is a curious mix of hi-tech. Rocketships and robots are commonplace, but clothing styles and how people conduct their lives resembles mid- to late-19th century America as seen in Spaghetti Westerns. There is even a type of gold rush going on on, except people are prospecting for Radium. The World of Madame Tarantula can be summed up as "Rockets West: The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly Meets Ray Bradbury's Martian Chronicles."

Renegade robots are among Madame Tarantula's main foes. You can use the statistics on this page in our BESM: Armitage III section to represent some of the more deadly ones. For additional insight into the look and feel of the world, you can check out some fine illustrations here, here, here, and here.
