Photos from a 24 days trek in the Rolwaling/Parchamo/Trashi Labse/Namche Bazar/Tengboche region of Nepal
in October 2000. The trip started in Barabise on the Katmandu - Lhasa highway,
4 hours from Kathmandu. After a week we reached Beding at 3600 m.
We used the nearby Yalung Ri (5600 m) to acclimatise. The trek took us past Tsho Rolpa,
the giant glacial lake, across the 5755 m high Trashi Labtse Pass with the Parchamo Peak next to it (6250 m) and finally to Namche Bazar.
During the visit to the monastory of Tengboche we witnessed a ceremony for the reception of the Lama of Junbesi, the highest Lama in Nepal.
