Getty Museum, Los Angeles.

Getty Museum, main inner court yard with the fountain.

The Getty Museum in Los Angeles is an oasis of beauty and tranquillity. It feels like you are entering the home of Getty himself and get a tour of his private collection.

The building is made of travertine limestone, a layered rock, considered very fine building material in Italy and very unusual for the USA. The travertine and the design gives it a Romano-Italian feeling.

The number of art object is disappointing and when you are used to European Museums, you should mainly visit the place for the building. Getty liked to collect almost anything.
